Save the Date Postcard

Picking the venue was easy, but for two people who both work in marketing, advertising and publishing professionally, selecting the means to announce our wedding was a journey. Katharine came up with the idea to use a postcard and after few searches online we determined there were several to choose from.

Over the next few months we will be highlighting some of the postcards as well as other facts on the location under the tag RNSP-History. Check it out here.

The image below is the original scan complete with control target. We intentionally wanted to capture the color of the aged paper and the fine line detail of the print and completing the scan with the control target allowed us to accomplish that task.

The image printed on the card appears to be an artist rendering of the pavilion. The viewing angle of the artist would have required some sort of elevated perspective which would place the artist somewhere suspended over the sound.

Retouch_Final

Some simple retouching and image adjustment yielded the final image which was ready for design.

Neither Katharine or I are professional designers, however there were several rounds of proofs and alternate designs took several weeks.
